Meeple-a-Thon is dedicated to providing a harassment-free and positive experience for everyone. All persons are expected to follow the code of conduct and community guidelines and work to provide a great con experience.
Code of Conduct
You, as a part of our community, represent all of us and your actions contribute to the whole of our event. With this in mind, all attendees must always show respect for their fellow attendees, whether you’re at the gaming table, visiting a vendor, or engaging with us on social media. It also means that you acknowledge your role in making the Kansas City gaming community thrive by participating in activities in a manner that promotes teamwork, camaraderie, and fun for all participants.
Hate speech, insults, disrespect, game sabotage, cheating/exploiting gameplay mechanics, harassment, vulgarity, defamatory or offensive behavior, trolling, fraudulent behavior, bribery, spamming, and unsportsmanlike behavior are all offenses that can result in you being removed or banned from our community.
Violent behavior, the sharing of violent content or participation in the sharing of illegal activity will not be tolerated.
The Kansas City gaming community contains a wide breadth of individuals, and oftentimes includes the next generation of gamers which may be kids or teens. Attendees are expected to behave in a manner that reflects the inclusion of those under 18. This means that all adult events must be clearly labeled and guidelines over who may participate must be strictly adhered to. Even at adult events, pornographic material, and derogatory, hateful or discriminatory language or actions are strictly prohibited.
In order to ensure the safety of the community, all gaming tables will be provided an “X” card. The X card is a Meeple-a-thon branded card, approximately the size of an index card, with a bold “X” on one side. If a player is uncomfortable with the content of the material (such as a scenario in a roleplaying game, or the conversation topic during a board game), the player can hold up the X card to show their game host or Meeple-a-thon staff member in order to change the game topic or the content of the RPG. This is done to provide a respectful way “out” for individuals for any reason (including phobias, PTSD and more).

What Constitutes Harassment?
Harassment is generally any behavior that alarms, threatens, demeans, or excessively annoys another person or group. Harassment includes offensive verbal comments (related to gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, or religion), sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, unwelcome sexual attention, and false accusations of harassment. Attendees asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.
